I love colour, especially bright colours – so when we finally had some gorgeous weather over the weekend, I couldn’t wait to wear this neon yellow tank I purchased a few weeks ago. It went perfectly with my black BCBG maxi skirt, and mixed with turquoise and gold accessories. Hope you all have a bright and shinning day!

A great staple this spring and summer is a chambray shirt. It’s a shirt that allows you to be as creative as you want and almost goes with anything in your closet. You can easily dress it down as a light jacket or wear it with a maxi skirt and statement necklace for a more dressed up look! How do you wear your chambray?

American Apparel has the greatest basics (and if you hadn’t noticed, I, being Megan, tend to dress on simplicity). Need a plain shirt? Crop tops? body suits? body con dresses? All your spandex-y needs in one store! I recently bought their crop tee in a black and white stripe pattern, and I haven’t been able to NOT wear it with like, everything I own — seriously. I can be office casual, or city chic and everything inbetween.

I have such a busy work schedule, that I often find myself with no time to go home and change if I have evening plans. Instead I always keep a spare set of jeans in the car just in case! Yesterday for work I wore a cream blazer, red pencil skirt and a cute leather and lace jacket. I then had a hockey game to go to later that evening. I didn’t have time to go home and throw on some “hockey game clothes” and thought a red pencil skirt might be a tad cold! Luckily I had a pair of jeans that I switched into, and had a perfect new outfit!

As I’m uploading these photos, I’m trying to figure out what to say about these outfits. Really it’s just what I wear everyday — sweet and simple. I like to think I dress with one object in mind that I want to stand out, and base my outfit on that. Today, I went with my red shoes that I adore, paring it with my old granny sweater (as my friend calls it) and cherry blossom skirt to go for the full “red” theme. The next outfit, I really wanted to showcase a new necklace I bought from Forever 21. I’m so drawn to triangles these days it’s nuts. Anyways, to make sure the necklace stood out, I wore a very plain simple long white tee (that has a wicked gold zipper in the back) and a pair of tights. Something toned down in order for what I want to be seen first, IS seen first! I think a necklace is a great centerpiece for any outfit!
I think the moral of this post is, even thought the “t-shirt” is what is the same in both outfits, it’s not the stand-out part to either. I’ve used it to make other features of my outfits pop!

On Valentines Day, my fiancé and I watched on old classic movie, that neither of us has seen – Cleopatra. If you haven’t seen it, I totally recommend it. Elizabeth Taylor is gorgeous in it! I loved all her costumes and accessories she wore. It inspired me one evening for a night out with my girlfriends. I bought this black and gold sequin skirt a few weeks ago, and paired it was a Jessica Simpson blazer and tank. The finishing touch was a tiered black and gold necklace.

This past weekend I finally celebrated my birthday (which was over a month ago)! I wanted my party to be fun and full of sparkles – and that’s exactly what it was! I wore a rose sequin v-neck dress by BCBG – it simply amazing. Its sparkly, fun and sexy. We went to Yates Street Taphouse for towers of beer and appies followed by a night of dancing. It was fabulous!
Ps: I’m sorry for the lack of postings the last few weeks. Work has been insanely busy, and all my free time has gone into wedding planning! Can’t wait to catch-up with all of you and your blogs!
